Noosa Heads

Vanilla Food

2/10 Lanyana Way, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

With a focus on good food, health & the environment, Vanilla Food naturally offers tons of plant-based dishes for you to sample. For breakfast, tuck into cinnamon rhubarb porridge with house-made almond milk or avocado on charcoal sourdough with cashew cream & toasted seeds. For lunch, why not try the Japanese cabbage pancakes with green pea mayo or miso wild mushrooms with hemp dukkah.

Mr Drifter

1/9 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

Noosa Junction’s new Asian inspired restaurant is proving popular amongst tourists and locals thanks to its refreshingly modern menu and the incredible gin & rum-based cocktails. Vegan diners won’t be disappointed by Bombay loaded potatoes with curried gravy, ‘dhal-icious’ curry with roti bread, fried baby corn with coconut masala crust and Siracha or the tofu Laksa.

Paradise Arcade

14/8b Arcadia St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

This Cali-Mexican inspired restaurant and cocktail bar knows how to cook up a vegan storm with holy shitake quesadillas, smoked pineapple tacos, bean burrito bowls & guacamole nachos (vegan cheese is also available on request to finish off the fiesta).

Light Years Asian Diner

1 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

Serving small plates designed to share, Light Years offers a mouth-watering choice of dishes for a proper vegan feast. My personal favourite was the katsu aubergine bao buns with cucumber kimchi, siracha mayo and peanuts, closely followed by the shitake, ginger & chestnut wontons and the turmeric & cauliflower curry with kaffir lime & snake beans. Naturally I washed this all down with a ‘Lemon Kimono’ cocktail made with limoncello, montenegro, aquafaba and lemon flavoured popping candy.

Izakaya Até

3/14 Arcadia St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

A visit to this venue will provide the only Japanese Izakaya-style eating experience in the area. Vegans can tuck into spicy fried eggplant, coconut soup with gyozas, Japanese curry, yakisoba, garlic seaweed edemame & much more thanks to their excellent veggie-orientated menu.

Sushi-Yah Man

7 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

This traditional sushi joint is a long standing favourite amongst plant-based eaters in the area with TONS of options for us to choose from. The extensive menu includes crispy sweet potato & pumpkin rolls, inari, agedashi tofu broth, veggie gyozas & teriyaki tofu rice.

Eddie Cheebas

Shop 5/1 Arcadia St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

This bar is named after a vintage NYC DJ and the funky interior matches the establishment’s hip-hop roots. Enjoy beer from around the globe whilst you tuck into a jackfruit and wild rice burrito bowl with black beams and guac or a coconut roasted cauliflower with satay sauce.

Jungle & Co

Shop 3/19-21 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

Labelled as ‘home of the healthy gut’, Jungle & Co offers a variety of plant-based foods packed with pre & probiotics to keep your insides happy. Opt for a plant-based miso ramen or the ‘One Night in Heaven’ smoothie bowl with PB, cinnamon, banana, coconut milk & popcorn topping if you’re feeling sweet. You can also choose from a range of gut health toasts smothered in nut butters, chia jam or house crafted notella.

Pasta Pronto

25 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

You don’t need a PHD to work out what’s on offer at this restaurant. Unfortunately for vegans the pasta contains egg, however the owners have added some great plant-based alternatives like sweet potato gnocchi with sage or the zucchini spaghetti with house made pesto sauce. Add a side of fresh tomato bruschetta or garlic and rosemary pane to finish off the italian experience.

81 Noosa Dr, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

As one of the only restaurants in the area with a dedicated (and extensive) vegan menu, it’s no wonder Montezuma’s Mexican is a hit with plant-based punters. The ‘beef style’ tender strip burritos are always a winner, as well as the vegan San Antonio nachos with frijoles, grilled vegan cheese, ranchero sauce and dairy-free sour cream.

The Stacked Pantry

3/28 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

This family run café offers lunch options such as the pumpkin stack, the vegan buddha bowl & the falafel wrap with pickled cucumber. It also offers 8 different types of superfood bowls that are all vegan, my favourites being the peanut butter or the choc berry bowl.

HARU Korean Kitchen

2 Arcadia St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

Boasting excellent TripAdvisor reviews, this restaurant serves up tofu udon noodles, glass noodles fried with japchae veg, dumpling soup, edamame & avo salad for its plant-based patrons.

2/9-11 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

Quenchers specialises in freshly squeezed drinks and veg-filled wraps. There are tons of dairy-free smoothies on offer like the ‘No Rum Punch’ with guava, mango, lemon, orange & rose syrup and vegan wraps can be made with smoked tofu or falafel and stuffed to the brim with hummus, veggies and tahini sauce.

Larder & Baked

1/29 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

As far as feel-good cafes go, this place is pretty bomb. Pair your freshly ground coffee with an açai bowl and head back at lunchtime to try out the vegan Larder bowl with spiced chickpeas & tahini slaw or a traditional poke bowl with miso glazed vegetables & toasted nori.

A Taste of Spice

4/36 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

With a chilled yet authentic vibe, this BYO joint offers Malaysian & Thai cuisine including thai curried veggies, stir-fry with ginger & tofu and veggie curry puffs.

Pizza Capers

37 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

Technically, this is a takeaway rather than a restaurant, but Pizza capers couldn’t be left off the list due to it’s insane vegan options. They offer a satay tofu pizza as well as sweet chilli or garlic & rosemary calzones stuffed with vegan cheese.

Taco Boy

3 Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

Another noteworthy takeaway is Taco Boy, offering tacos, burritos, enchiladas & quesadillas stuffed with frijoles, pumpkin, corn salad, guac, salsa and vegan cheese AT NO EXTRA COST (it’s a miracle).

Noosa Main Beach

Hop & Vine

Level 1/27/18 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

As the name would suggest, this establishment is known for great beer & wine as well as its excellent vegan-friendly food. Plant-based guests can look forward to miso-roasted japanese pumpkin with cashew sauce and bean sprout salad or steamed buckwheat veggie dumplings with herb chutney.

Noosa Reef Hotel

19 Noosa Dr, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

With amazing views of Laguna Bay & North Shore, take a seat on the terrace at the Noosa Reef Hotel and tuck into a saffron-poached cauliflower buddha bowl with harissa tofu and cashew cheese, a chickpea tikka masala with naan or a vegan burger/nachos.

El Capitano

52 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

Well-known for it’s 72-hour fermented sourdough pizzas and perfect location a stone’s throw from Noosa Main Beach, El Capitano offers the incredible ‘Vegan Butternut’ pizza with pumpkin purée, cauliflower, spiced chickpeas, aubergine tahini, onion jam, coriander & vegan cheese. Share this between two with a side of charred broccoli with lemon, chilli & almonds and your perfect lunch will come to life.

Café Le Monde

52 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

Despite the name and the charming French-style interior, Café Le Monde’s menu isn’t all that français after all, but luckily it’s still delicious. Vegan options include 1) avocado on sourdough with heirloom cherry tomatoes, chilli, red onion, basil & extra virgin olive oil, 2) roast pumpkin salad with carrot, green lentil, nuts, seeds, parsley, dill & nut mylk dressing or 3) yellow coconut curry with lemongrass, kaffir lime, turmeric, sweet potato, pumpkin, greens & organic brown rice.

Coconut Head

52 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

A self-proclaimed superfood bar is often a vegan’s best friend whilst on holiday and Coconut Head is no exception. The healthy joint serves up sensational poké burritos (yep, you heard right) consisting of protein, veggies, and sauce rolled up in sushi rice and nori so you can really sink your teeth into it. The ‘Go Vegan’ poké burrito contains organic tempeh, red cabbage, broccoli, kale, raw slaw, spring onion, wasabi peas, crispy kale, soy-ginger sauce & vegan miso-mayo… it’s absolutely epic to say the least. On cooler days warm up with the vegan ramen and during the scorching summer the coco-whip vegan ice cream with your choice of toppings will cool you down and make your belly happy.

Shop 5/50 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

Fast, convenient and plant-based friendly, this country-wide burger joint is the place to get your big, greasy, burger fix. Choose between the standard ‘beef’ style pattie, the Beyond pattie or the mushroom parma and add vegan cheese, vegan mayo and toppings to create your dream burger (the rosemary fries are pretty great too).

Kaali Gourmet Indian

2/2 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

Indian cuisine is notoriously good for plant-based eaters and Kaali on Hastings Street ticks all the boxes. A trip to this restaurant wouldn’t be complete without a big bowl of the red lentil Tadka Dhal, the chickpea and pumpkin Salan with aromatic spinach and coconut or the Kadhai with veggies, tomato, garlic, chilli & cumin. Samosas & onion bhajis are obviously essential accompaniments, and they even do vegan tandoori bread!

Noosa Surf Club

69 Hastings St, Noosa QLD 4567

The surf club enjoys the best location in the whole of Noosa and the food is just as good as the ocean views from the club terrace. I never usually go for salads in restaurants but the ‘Sunshine Salad’ with mango, macadamia, avocado, cherry tomato and creamy dressing was sensational. If you fancy something bigger go for the ‘Noosa Bruschetta’ with roast pumpkin, marinated olives, grilled zuchinni, tomato, spanish onion & balsamic glaze or the loaded nachos with bean chilli, guac, mexican salsa & jalapeños (ask for both dishes vegan to avoid the cheese).

Raw & Rice

2/52 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

This Poké bowl joint prides itself on being a sustainable & healthy takeaway establishment and the packaging is pretty eco-friendly. Hungry vegans can choose a base of sushi rice, brown rice, quinoa or mixed leaf, topped with tofu and 5 veggies of your choice including edemame beans, red cabbage, pickled ginger, avo & beansprouts. Drizzle with tahini, coco-lime, tamari or lemon rapeseed oil to add an extra flavour punch to the most nutritious meal you’ll ever eat.

Açai Brothers

4/52 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

This well known chain offers healthy açai bowls with dozens of vegan toppings available such as COYO coconut yoghurt, cacao nibs, peanut butter or chocolate buckini.

Açai Nation

Bay Village, Shop 18B/18 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

Rival superfood bar Açai Nation creates bowls that are equally as delicious filled with pitaya & chia pudding or traditional açai covered with their signature nut butters, vegan chocolate sauce or passionfruit pulp.

Shop A 1a, Bay Village on Hastings, Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

An ice-cream chain celebrated across Australia with a bigger-than-average vegan range including coconut, creamy chocolate, passionfruit & strawberry. The traditional cones are vegan too!

Poké on Hastings

22/18 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD 4567

For the freshest poké bowls in town head to this joint in the food court where all of the ingredients are locally sourced and really high quality. They offer a wide range of customised bowls as well as delicious vegan home-made soups and baked goods for dessert.

Blended Health Bar

18 Hastings St, Noosa Heads QLD 456

Head to Blended for a ‘Lean Green’ smoothie or a ‘Choc Dream’ shake. If you’re hungry, try the ‘Blue Ocean Bowl’ with watermelon, coconut sorbet & blue pea anti-oxidant powder.

Tuk Tuk Thai Cuisine

187-193 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville QLD 4566

This restaurant has so many vegan options I don’t even know where to begin. There are 10 vegan-friendly curries on offer that are available with veggies & tofu, or if you fancy noodles you can choose Pad Singapore, cashew noodles with chilli jam sauce or flat rice noodles with peanut sauce & veggies.

Raw Energy

1/231 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville QLD 4566

The food quality at this well-known ozzie chain is outstanding and the coffee isn’t bad either. My go-to choice is always the quinoa, sweet potato & kale fritters served with roma tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, avocado salsa and warm napoli sauce (it tastes as good as it sounds), but if you’re feeling sweet you should go for either the açai or dragon fruit bowl with toasted muesli, fresh strawberry, banana & coconut.

3/255 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville QLD 4566

Flux restaurant & lounge takes modern Australian tapas to a whole new level with its uber-creative dishes and relaxed atmosphere. Whilst there aren’t any 100% vegan restaurants in Noosa, Flux is the next best thing with plant-based dishes taking up almost half of the menu. I would recommend the crispy lotus root with Japanese 7-spice, the fried polenta cake with roasted field mushrooms, crispy sage & romesco sauce and the salted chocolate tart with vanilla ice-cream, hazelnut praline and berry coulis.

Zachary’s Gourmet Pizza Bar

271 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville QLD 4566

Boasting two locations in the Noosa area, one on Gympie Terrace and one on Hastings Street, Zachary’s is a hit with vegans thanks to its love of veggie-stacked pizzas and vegan cheese for an extra cost. Opt for the veggie pizza with roasted red pepper, mushrooms, courgette, aubergine and vegan cheese or the classic margherita made vegan if, like me, you believe simple is best.

*Note: standard pizzas have a mozzarella and napolitana base sauce, so remember to ask for the dairy free version!

Land & Sea Brewery

19 Venture Dr, Noosaville QLD 4566

L & S brews up the best craft beer in town, and their feel-good menu perfectly compliments the ales. There’s a section of the menu entitled ‘Fine Vegan’ including chilli dogs, toasted nachos, ramen, rainbow bowls & ‘the spread’ vegan board.

Depot Cafe

4/239-245 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville QLD 4566

This cafe is brunch heaven to say the least and offers some cracking choices for vegan patrons. Favourites include the sautéed mushroom & spinach sourdough with avocado, beetroot hummus, balsamic glaze and sesame, as well as the sweet potato and quinoa fritters with fresh salad. They also serve up vegan cakes & fresh juice for those with a sweet tooth.

Noosa Boathouse

194 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville QLD 4566

Vegan diners at the Boathouse can enjoy a heirloom tomato & cucumber salad with olive dust to start, followed by a delicious organic tofu thai yellow curry with asian vegetables.

Noosa Amore Gelato

2 Parkyn Ct, Tewantin QLD 4565

Located at Noosa Marina, this ice-cream shop offers vegan scoops plus a selection of raw vegan cheesecakes to really hit the spot.

2/3 Gibson Rd, Noosaville QLD 4566

This health store and coffee shop is possibly the most colourful place on earth. Head in for some organic groceries and take a pitt stop at the cafe to devour asian tempeh bowls or some of their daily salad specials with falafel, hummus, parmeZan & hemp.

The Sunflower Hotel (@ Noosa Farmer’s Market)

155 Weyba Rd, Noosaville QLD 4566

The Sunflower Hotel is a 100% organic, gluten-free and vegan smoothie bar located at Noosa Farmer’s Market every Sunday. They have 18 different flavours available all made with fresh fruit and veggies – remember to bring your own cup/jar to help out the oceans.
