Explore

Urangan Pier

Stretching almost a kilometre into deep blue ocean, Urangan Pier is one of the longest in Australia. Take a leisurely walk along the wooden boardwalk and take in the breathtaking views of Fraser Island to the East, whilst looking out for dolphins, pelicans and shoals of glistening fish. Humpback Whales visit Hervey Bay every year between July & November, so you may even be lucky enough to watch these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat without paying for a pricey whale-watching tour.

Torquay Beach

Visit Torquay beach for a blissful afternoon spent on the sand. Sunbathe with a good book or take a swim in the calm waters of the bay – the temperature remains warm all year round thanks to shelter provided by Fraser Island.

The Esplanade

This 14km track runs all the way along Hervey Bay’s foreshore and is best explored on wheels. Hire a bike and cycle from Urangan Harbour to Gatakers Bay, one of the only places in Queensland where you can watch the sun set over the ocean.
